Privacy Policy

This privacy policy explains the nature, scope and purpose of the collection and use of the data belonging to the visitors to and users of (hereinafter referred to collectively as 'the user') the websites provided by Rheinland-Pfalz Tourismus GmbH, Löhrstraße 103-105, 56068 Koblenz, Germany ('RPT') as a body acting in accordance with data protection laws.

1. Collecting data
a. RPT collects data each time its website is accessed (so-called server log files). This data includes the names of the website and files accessed, date and time of access, amount of data transferred, notifications indicating if the website was successfully accessed, browser type and version, the user's operating system, referrer URL (previously visited site), IP address and the provider requesting data.

b. RPT only uses the log data for statistical analysis, enabling the operation, safety and optimisation of the service, without associating it personally with the user or with any other kind of profiling, as required by law. RPT reserves the right to review the log data however, if there is concrete evidence which reasonably suggests that there has been an unlawful use of the service.

?

2. Collection and use of personal data
a. Personal data is only collected or used by RPT if this is permitted by law, or if the user consents to the data being collected. In general, it is clear to the user what kind of data is stored when using the service, such as his name or email address and any messages sent when using the contact form.

??

b. When contacting RPT (via the contact form or email) the user's details will be saved in order to process the request and in case there are follow-up questions.

?

3. Disclosing data to third parties
a. The user's data will only be passed on to third parties if it is legally permitted to do so or the user has consented to it.

?

b. This will be the case, for example, if the purpose of transmitting the data is to fulfil contractual obligations towards the user and the contact details are passed on to the provider of accommodation, or if the data is requested by relevant bodies such as law enforcement authorities.

?

c. The user's personal data is not sold or forwarded in any other way to third parties for advertising purposes nor for the purpose of creating user profiles.

??

4. Cookies
a. RPT's service uses 'cookies'. Cookies are small files which are stored on the user's computer and can save information for RPT. Temporary cookies are deleted once the browser is closed while permanent cookies remain for a specified period of time and can make the stored information available if the service is accessed again.

?

b. One of the purposes of cookies is to simplify the use of the service. A cookie will save the user's login details for example, so that he does not need to login every time.

?

c. Cookies are also used for statistical or marketing purposes, to determine how the service is used. This collection takes place anonymously or using a pseudonym, meaning that the data is stored without being connected to a specific user. These cookies are provided by RPT as well as by third parties (e.g. advertising partners). The user can object to this use of his data at any time by using one of the contact methods listed at the end of this privacy policy.

?

d. The user can also influence the handling of cookies. Most browsers have an option, which can limit or completely prevent the storage of cookies. RPT strives to design its service in such a way that using cookies is not necessary. However, it must be pointed out that using the service without cookies may prevent the user from taking full advantage of the website.

??

5. Google Analytics
a. RPT uses Google Analytics, which is a web analytics solution run by Google Inc. ('Google'). Google Analytics uses 'cookies', i.e. text files, which are stored on the user's computer and allow RPT to analyse how the website is used. The information the cookie generates about the user’s activity on this website is normally transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there.?If IP anonymisation is activated on this website, the user's IP address will however be abbreviated by Google in the European Union member states or in other states that are party to the European Economic Area Treaty before it is transmitted to the USA. Only in exceptional circumstances will the full IP address be transmitted to a Google server in the USA and abbreviated there. This website uses IP anonymisation. Google will use the information on behalf of the operator of this website to evaluate how the site is used, to compile reports on website activity and to provide the website operator with further services concerning website and internet use.

?

c. The IP address transmitted by your browser as part of Google Analytics is not merged with other data held by Google. The user can prevent cookies being saved by appropriately adjusting the browser settings. However, RPT advises the user that in this case it may not be possible to use all the website functions to their full extent. The user can also prevent the data generated by the cookie relating to his activity on the website (including the IP address) from being collected and processed by Google by following this link to download and install the relevant browser plug-in: http://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de.

?

6. Retraction, changes, corrections and updates
a. The user has the right to request, free of charge, information about his personal data stored by RPT. Contact details can be found in the 'Legal notices' section of the website.?b. In addition, the user has the right to demand the correction of inaccurate data and the blocking and deletion of his personal data, insofar as there is no legal obligation to retain it.

7. Changes to the privacy policy
RPT reserves the right to change this privacy policy if its legal position alters as a result of a change to its service or to the processing of data. Users will be informed appropriately about the revised privacy policy.
